Salad Maniac

In case you haven’t noticed (via Instagram), I have a slight obsession with salads right now. Any and all kinds. So I thought I'd let you all in on all of my current favorite salad ingredients! P.S Be on the look out for my Opt Flavors feature later this week!

Salads really can be made with anything. I can’t tell you how many times I've thrown leftovers in one or just whatever I have in the fridge. I obviously always have greens!

I have three salads that I make right now; my "Healthy Greens" salad, my "Mexican" salad, and my "Fruity Nut" salad.

I always use a dense green such as spinach or kale along with a protein, I prefer chicken in these salads but salmon could always be an add-in. Dense greens help you feel full, longer!

Healthy Greens

-Sprouts

-Kale

-Spinach

-Tomatoes

-Cucumbers

-Bell pepper

-Chicken breast

Mexican

-Spinach

-Chicken breast

-Pinto beans

-Tomatoes

-Pico (I use a store bought corn and bean, pico dip from Whole Foods)

Fruity Nut

-Spinach

-Kale

-Chicken breast

-Blueberries

-Pomegranate seeds

-Sliced almonds

You can literally throw in anything (within reason of course), here are some more yummy ingredients that I like, what can you come up with?

Butter lettuce

Spring Mix

Strawberries

Apricots

Watermelon

Apples

Zucchini

Squash

Green Beans

Asparagus

Brocclini

Beets

Turkey (lunch meat)

Salmon

Steak

Sesame Seeds

Pumpkin Seeds

Walnuts

Chia Seeds

Rosemary

Thyme

Basil
