Let's Talk Lush...

Have you ever stopped to think about all the chemicals we use on our face and body daily? Me, neither, until someone brought it up recently. Once reality set in and I looked into it, it's pretty crazy to know what all sorts of chemicals are in our makeup and skincare.

Don't get me wrong, the older I get, I am all about trying all the latest and greatest beauty products because let's face it, I am not excited about wrinkles (of any kind). So of course there are a couple of things I may not be willing to give up, but less is more, right? So why not replace some of my routine with something that’s better for me?!

With all that said, I've decided to lay off the unnecessary added chemicals in my daily routine and go a little more "au naturale"!

I LOVE LUSH! I discovered Lush USA several years ago because they make the most fragrant, fun, and flirty bath bombs and soaps that are to die for! It wasn’t until recently that I found out they also have a line of lotions, cleansers, face masks, shampoos and cosmetics. Everything is fresh and hand-made, each container even tells you the name of the individual person who made the product, so cool!

Since I live in Houston with unbearable summer humidity, my skincare routine drastically changes once summer hits. I've never really found a moisturizer that I can wear under my makeup that doesn’t have me blotting by 2PM. That is, until, I found Lush Enzymion, the most amazing thing I maybe have ever put on my face. A blend of citrus fruits like papaya and lemon, Enzymion mops up excess oils and literally cleanses your face of dead skin and debris built up throughout the day. Nutrient-rich avocado and evening primrose oils replenish essential vitamins and minerals. It gives me the perfect amount of moisture and has a great matte finish. No more blotting necessary!

I am also addicted to their FRESH made face masks! Yes, they make them fresh in the store, they are ORGANIC, and they stay in your fridge until they expire! These fresh and active ingredients are full of enzymes, vitamins, and minerals that work their wonders on your skin. Because they’re so fresh (and contain no synthetic preservatives) these masks are only available in stores. This is exactly what you want to be lathering on that pretty skin of yours.

My current favorite masks are Cupcake (this is made with chocolate y'all!) and The Sacred Truth.
