"Fit" Ice Cream? Is there such a thing?
Sure there is! While randomly creeping on the ice cream aisle the other day at the grocery store I realized there are so many new kinds of ice cream out there. There are several companies marketing to those of us living healthy lifestyles by promoting ice cream with a heavy dose of protein or low sugar. Both of those words make me jump for joy, and who wouldn't. Indulgences with-out the "bad-stuff", uh yes please!
Since I choose to live a mostly dairy free lifestyle, ice cream gets marked off the "Treat Yo Self" list, which honestly is depressing. I'm from Texas and we love our BlueBell and I grew up shoving as much as I could get into my body! Around this time last year I started toying with the idea of making my own ice-cream that didn't take the work of actually making ice cream. Well y'all I figured it out, and it takes about 2 minutes to make!!!!
So get out your trusty food processor (or Bullet) and get to making an amazing "healthier for you" dessert! ( I do need to disclose that obviously bananas have sugar, as any fruit would)
Want to see exactly how I made mine? Here ya go 4 Ingredient Banana Ice Cream
Ingredients (1 Serving)
1 1/2 Frozen Bananas
1 Pinch Flax Seed
1 Pinch Chia Seed
1/4-1/2 Almond Milk (I used Toasted Coconut and the amount here may vary depending on preferred consistency)
If you are interested, I have found only one brand of truly dairy free ice cream that is worth it, and thats a brand called Nada-Moo. The Mint Chocolate in my opinion is the BEST!
Enjoy!
